28/Veintiocho
Veitiocho is an editorial styling project inspired by the intimacy and femininity of menstruation. This collaborative work was created by Juan Santiago Jaramillo, Juliana Giraldo, Manuela Restrepo, and myself.
We chose this theme to normalize the taboo surrounding menstrual periods, exploring the various colors and intensities of blood, body expression, and the introspection that accompanies this time of the month.
Moodboard:
We collaborated with various clothing brands, selected the model, poses, location, and color scheme to best convey this concept.
Stylist as an educator:
The following virtual magazine showcases the outstanding work of the Fashion Styling students at the Maria Luisa Valencia Institute, where I served as a course instructor and project advisor. The process began with thorough research focused on market trends, and the chosen theme was "Poetic," which conveys peace through warm colors and soft textures.
Poetic/Casualwear
Each moment of calm and every verse adds to the poetry of life. Mindfulness towards oneself stands out as an act of self-love, allowing for mental clarity amidst daily hustle.
The colors and textures chosen by the students in the clothing, setting, makeup, and overall production reflect the peaceful moments embodied by the "Poetic" trend.
Poetic/Underwear
The journey of covering the body without overshadowing its natural beauty highlights an intimate connection of confidence and self-expression.
Women's intimate clothing represents those moments of introspection and connection with oneself.
